Greetings Trojans!

I am very honored and excited to join the Essex High School family as your new Assistant Principal.  As an instructional leader, it is my mission to motivate, inspire, and propel every member of our school family into our places of continual excellence as students, educators, parent-partners, community-based partners and life-long learners.  As you well know, Essex is bursting with great potential and exceeds expectations, which produce learners, and leaders who refuse to be average, overcome obstacles and blaze trials that make great impacts in the community and beyond.  As I join the Trojan Family, I am personally challenged, inspired, and motivated to grow our school by growing every child, every day based on their unique learner profiles.

I come to you with over 20 years of instructional experience and six years of instructional leadership experience.  I have taught Music, Exceptional Education, Biology, Earth Science, Environmental Science, and Human Anatomy. I have also served a coach for football, basketball, and track and field.  I am originally from Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  I attended Virginia Union University and Virginia State University where I earned recognition as an All-American Scholar and  received my undergraduate degree  in Commercial Music/Jazz Studies and Music Education from Virginia State University.  I earned my master’s degree in Special Education from Virginia State University in 2006, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Administration and Supervision from The University of Virginia, and an Educational Specialist Degree (Ed.S) in Special Education Administration from Regent University. I am currently  pursuing a doctorate in Exceptional Education Executive Leadership from Regent University.

I want to learn about the great things happening in the Essex High School community.  As we move forward, please know that I welcome and desire your input on this journey.  Together we can and we will rise to the top because of our commitment to join forces as a united school family, declaring that our children will continue to receive the best education possible.  We are in our finest days and the best is yet to come!

Please feel free to contact me at the school with any questions, concerns, or just for an introduction.  Through a close and shared partnership with everyone associated with Essex High School, I am confident our school will be a successful place for our students to learn and grow.  I look forward to working with you.

Go Trojans!
